Pellet fuels (or pellets)

Pellet fuels (or pellets) are biofuels made from compressed organic matter or biomass. Pellets can be made from any one of five general categories of biomass: industrial waste and co-products, food waste, agricultural residues, energy crops, and virgin lumber.

Wood pellets are the most common type of pellet fuel and are generally made from compacted sawdust and related industrial wastes from the milling of lumber, manufacture of wood products and furniture, and construction.

Pellets are categorized by their heating value, moisture and ash content, and dimensions. They can be used as fuels for power generation, commercial or residential heating, and cooking.

Pellets are extremely dense and can be produced with a low moisture content (below 10%) that allows them to be burned with a very high combustion efficiency.

Main products of BIOSEMIRA are:

Fuel briquets

Fuel briquetts are classified by the type of production and form:

RUFRUF – in the form of bricks. First RUF briquetts were produced in Germany. Powerfull hydropresses are used for RUF briquets production.
NESTRONESTRO Logs have a natural round look. They are versatile and suit all types of wood burning appliances. They are longer than other types of briquettes, at about 27-30 cm (11 - 12 in.) but can be broken by hand into pieces to fit stoves and fireplaces of any size.
Pini-KayPini-Kay Wood Briquettes are named after the company that originally manufactured the extrusion press that applies incredibly high pressure to sawdust and heats the outer surfaces to create a lightly charred layer. These are considered to be the most high-end heat logs available as they release loads of heat, don't expand, don't shed any sawdust, light easily and are compact to store. They are also made of very dry sawdust to give supreme heat output for their small volume.
